My grout is stained and cracked. Do I need new tile?

Often not. I grind out the old grout, put in new grout and re-caulk the corners and the tub edge. If a few tiles are cracked or loose, I replace those too.

I have old 9-by-9-inch floor tiles. Can you take them up?

Not before they're tested. Old 9-by-9-inch floor tiles, and the black glue under them, can contain asbestos, and that's common in homes built from the 1950s to the 1970s. A lab can test a sample. If it tests positive, taking it up is a job for an asbestos removal company. Often the simpler fix is to leave the old tile in place and put the new floor over it.

Do you hook up the sink and faucet too?

No. On this job I do the tile, cabinets and flooring. Sink, faucet, toilet and vanity hookups aren't part of it. Tell me what you have planned, and I'll tell you where my part starts and ends.

Do I need to buy the tile?

You can pick it out, and I'll tell you how much to get, with extra for cuts. Or I'll pick it up and list it in your quote.
