Working in New Market
New Market was laid out in 1793 as a market town on the road between Frederick and Baltimore, the route that became the National Road. Its Main Street is a National Register historic district, long known for antique shops. It's about 35 minutes from my base in Germantown.
Most homes around it are much newer. In the 21774 ZIP, which includes Lake Linganore, more than four in ten homes have been built since 2000, and more than nine in ten households own their home. The town itself more than doubled in population between 2010 and 2020.
Newer homes need mounting, shelving and finishing. As decks and fences age, they need repairs, a wash and a fresh stain. New Market is in Frederick County, so call or text first and I'll let you know if I can take the job.

Yes. I hang them, and I come back to take them down after the season.
