Working in Frederick
Frederick is the county seat, about 30 minutes up I-270 from my base in Germantown. Downtown is one of the largest historic districts on the East Coast, around Carroll Creek Linear Park and Baker Park.
The housing is mixed. In the 21701 ZIP, which takes in downtown, about one home in five was built before 1940. The city has also grown fast in recent years, and about four in ten homes in the 21703 ZIP, on the south side, are townhouses. Older houses need doors, windows, trim and walls brought back into shape. Townhouses need deck, fence and trim repairs, and sometimes an answer to an HOA letter.
In the Frederick Town Historic District, exterior changes need the city's approval first. Routine maintenance on the city's minor rehabilitation list doesn't, and paint colors don't need approval. If your project changes the outside of the house, check with the city's preservation staff, and I'll work to what they approve.

Frederick questions
Call to check. Frederick is outside my usual MoCo area, so call or text me what you need and I'll let you know if I can take it.
Exterior changes in the Frederick Town Historic District need approval from the city's Historic Preservation Commission. Many smaller projects are approved by city staff without a hearing, and routine maintenance on the city's list doesn't need an application at all.
Yes. Text me a photo of the letter and I'll quote the deck, fence, trim or door repair it asks for.
